What is lo-fi?

Lo-fi (known as lo-fi hip hop) is a style of music production that uses low-fidelity recording techniques. Its application is caused by the artist's limitations. Many lo-fi artists use cheap cassette recorders to make the songs. The term was coined by a DJ who devoted half an hour of his radio program to home recording throughout the late 1980s under the name Lo-fi. The style is widely used in experimental music and trip hop as a distortion feature.
By licensing the technical requirements of the studios, a new musical aesthetic was created in lo-fi, appreciating children often seen as unwanted, as noises and ambient children, being able to add in this mixture nostalgic children such as vignettes, children of record players, of people , nature, city, objects, soils or repetitive children. What matters is the creativity that usually results in a very relaxing sound.
